Top 10 most searched homes near median U.S. list price
Real estate search portal Realtor.com has identified a list of the 10 most-visited for-sale properties on the site that are within 20 percent of the nation’s median list price of $195,000.
The list is based on visitor statistics for the week of June 13-19. Three of the properties on the list are in Florida and two are in Arizona. Other properties on the list are in California, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin.
The list prices of the properties range from $169,900 for a home in Weston, Fla., to $210,000 for a home in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; the home sizes range from 940 square feet for a home in Alpine, Ariz., to 6,000 square feet for a home in Detroit; and the lot size ranges from 0.08 acres for a home in Sacramento, Calif., to 4.09 acres for a home in Pickerel, Wis.

Mediation Helping Control Single and Multi Family Foreclosures
Cook County, Illinois, just like most areas of the U.S., is suffering from huge supplies of single family and multi family foreclosures. In an effort to help alleviate this problem, the county implemented a mediation initiative last year. Although foreclosed property numbers are still high, a number of homeowners have already benefitted from the program.
One year after its implementation, reports revealed that the program has already saved 216 properties from foreclosures list in Chicago and from county foreclosure listings. This represents around one third of a total of 627 properties whose owners applied for a slot under the program.
